My new year’s resolution for this year is to do my nails more often. It’s something I used to enjoy immensely in college. I’d sit in front of my laptop and watch an episode of Desperate Housewives (don’t judge me) while I painted my nails. I got really good at it, and pretty soon I could finish a whole manicure in 20 minutes.

But then I let my nails go partly when I did more lab work in school, but mostly from laziness. No longer! I’m going to take better care of myself again and this time I’ll learn how to do actual nail art!

I was surprised I managed to do my nails quickly still. I did the same ritual which probably helped. Nowadays, I pick any one of my shows on Netflix and get cracking. I find it very relaxing and by the time I’m done with an episode, my nails are all ready!

Here are pictures what I’ve done so far. I started last Christmas and hope to stay consistent through the rest of the year. Bottom right are my nails right now. It’s super easy but so very pretty! Here’s a tutorial if anyone wants to try: Glitter Ombre Nails. Mine took longer than it had to though because Sally Hansen is the worst nail polish ever. Seriously, if you so much as graze something while it’s still wet, you can kiss that nail’s mani goodbye.

I’m planning for plain red nails next week for Chinese New Year! Or maybe I should add some gold glitter too? Hmm…

By the way, I’m happy to say that my blog’s theme is now 100% responsive! I have a lot of catching up to do with the web after being gone for so long. I’ve been setting aside some time after work to learn
new stuff, and it’s been so fascinating. I feel like I’m 13 years old again and discovering HTML for the first time. It’s awesome. I never should’ve left.
