Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you all have a blessed holiday. ♥
This time of the year always puts me in the mood for movies. Whenever I was home from college, my sister and I would snuggle up on the couch and put on a DVD every night. I won’t be with my family this year, but I’m still keeping the tradition alive.
Our favorite type of movie? Chick flicks! They’re just fun, you know? I don’t have any more reason than that. I love popping one of these in for some light-hearted entertainment. I’ve been watching movies every night this past week, and I’ve been in such a good mood since.
Here’s what I’ve seen the last week. I’ve seen all these movies before but I’ve never stopped enjoying them. I hope you’d all watch them with me!
The Devil Wears Prada
Nigel: Who is that sad little person? Are we doing a before-and-after piece I don’t know about?
Lmao I love this line forever.
I love The Devil Wears Prada so much! It’s my favorite out of all of them. Meryl Streep is amazing as Miranda Priestly. And of course, the clothes! I want them all. I love for Andy’s makeover montage. Life goals right there.
Stan Fields: Miss Rhode Island, please describe your idea of a perfect date.
Cheryl “Rhode Island”: That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.
I can’t believe Miss Congeniality is fourteen years old. 2000 will be almost fifteen years ago. Where did the time go? This movie was one of my favorite in my early teens. I don’t watch actual beauty pageants myself (with their unfortunate implications that I won’t touch on at the moment), but this movie always makes me happy. On my bad days, I just tell myself to wear the crown, be the crown, I am the crown.
Warner Huntington III: You got into Harvard Law?
Elle: What? Like it’s hard?
Another old favorite! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a wonderful, flawless lady become fully realized. And you know, Elle was always intelligent but preconceived notions made for very low expectations of her, and she kicked everyone’s ass and their assumptions. Every one of them. YES. I need more movies like this.
Get Over It
Dr. Desmond Forest Oates: Oh, that was fun. Who was the composer on that?
Kelly: Me, actually.
Dr. Desmond Forest Oates: Oh, I’m sorry, were you expecting applause?
Get Over It is more of a teen movie than a chick flick, so the humor’s crude in some places, but I love A Midsummer Night’s Rockin’ Eve. This movie poster doesn’t really show what the movie’s all about. It’s Berke trying to win back his ex by joining the drama club’s musical production while trying to balance basketball. That’s right. It’s the original High School Musical. Lots of big names in this movie too. Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana, Ben Foster, Martin Short… dang.
Also, Shane West!!! ♥ We will always have the early ’00s.
If nothing else, you all need to check out this song from the movie.
What are your favorite movies? Do share them with everyone! And once again, Happy Holidays!
