Summer’s coming! It doesn’t feel like it to me though. My idea of summer is still scorching heat, blinding sunlight, and a steering wheel that burns your hand before you can turn on the A/C. Vegas summers are tough. Here in Philly, we’ve had cool rainy days of around 60°F (15.5°C). Sixty degrees in June, that’s crazy to me. I still feel cold in our apartment at night. Why am I not burning? Why is water not sizzling on the sidewalk as soon as it drops? Where is summer?
Can I make like a bird and migrate to Vegas for the winter then chill in Philly in the summer? I love how cool it is here this time of year, but I’m not a fan of East Coast winter. Way too cold and I keep slipping on icy sidewalks. :’D
While summer seems cool, it’s thankfully not too cool to bare some skin. Long time no see, legs! I don’t wear shorts skirts very often but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone if only for a bit. Gap had a sale a few months ago, so I scored this skirt and a flared sundress for much less! The skirt looks like it’s now on clearance on the site if any of you want to check it out.
I also got a new haircut a couple of weeks ago! A bob with straight bangs. The last time I had this haircut was a long time ago in college, but it was one of my favorite hairstyles. It’s quite high-maintenance for me though. My natural hair is a bit wavy and frizzy. I’ll have to iron my hair to get it to look nice for sure.
And I know I said I didn’t want to bleach my hair anymore, but the purple roots were driving me crazy, so I went ahead and bleached the top of my head. The bleaching plus the constant heat styling I plan to do means my hair won’t live for much longer. RIP. But totally worth it!
I wore this outfit for a quick visit to my previous agency and then a quick dinner in Center City! The top is a little sheer which I’m loving for the summer. I had a black lace bra underneath, and I really dug that look. I should’ve taken a better picture of the details, oops.
These jeans are the same pair from my Winter Blues post. Looks odd in this light! I’ve been keeping it simple and comfortable lately since we’re moving this coming week! We’re going to be living in a small city a little less than an hour away from Philly. I’m so excited. I love our new place! We’ve already picked out the furniture and all that’s left to do is to pack our belongings.
I’ll likely be more MIA than usual until we get settled at our new apartment. It’s been stressful since I still have to juggle work and other chores with packing everything away. I’ll be working remotely for my current agency, so I won’t be out of a job. I’m incredibly grateful for that, but that also means I won’t be taking any extra time off. Wish me luck!
