Summer’s coming! It doesn’t feel like it to me though. My idea of summer is still scorching heat, blinding sunlight, and a steering wheel that burns your hand before you can turn on the A/C. Vegas summers are tough. Here in Philly, we’ve had cool rainy days of around 60°F (15.5°C). Sixty degrees in June, that’s crazy to me. I still feel cold in our apartment at night. Why am I not burning? Why is water not sizzling on the sidewalk as soon as it drops? Where is summer?

Can I make like a bird and migrate to Vegas for the winter then chill in Philly in the summer? I love how cool it is here this time of year, but I’m not a fan of East Coast winter. Way too cold and I keep slipping on icy sidewalks. :’D

While summer seems cool, it’s thankfully not too cool to bare some skin. Long time no see, legs! I don’t wear shorts skirts very often but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone if only for a bit. Gap had a sale a few months ago, so I scored this skirt and a flared sundress for much less! The skirt looks like it’s now on clearance on the site if any of you want to check it out. :D

new-haircut

I also got a new haircut a couple of weeks ago! A bob with straight bangs. :D The last time I had this haircut was a long time ago in college, but it was one of my favorite hairstyles. It’s quite high-maintenance for me though. My natural hair is a bit wavy and frizzy. I’ll have to iron my hair to get it to look nice for sure.

And I know I said I didn’t want to bleach my hair anymore, but the purple roots were driving me crazy, so I went ahead and bleached the top of my head. The bleaching plus the constant heat styling I plan to do means my hair won’t live for much longer. RIP. But totally worth it!

I wore this outfit for a quick visit to my previous agency and then a quick dinner in Center City! The top is a little sheer which I’m loving for the summer. I had a black lace bra underneath, and I really dug that look. I should’ve taken a better picture of the details, oops.

Aeropostale Top and Jeans

These jeans are the same pair from my Winter Blues post. Looks odd in this light! o_O I’ve been keeping it simple and comfortable lately since we’re moving this coming week! We’re going to be living in a small city a little less than an hour away from Philly. I’m so excited. I love our new place! We’ve already picked out the furniture and all that’s left to do is to pack our belongings.

I’ll likely be more MIA than usual until we get settled at our new apartment. It’s been stressful since I still have to juggle work and other chores with packing everything away. I’ll be working remotely for my current agency, so I won’t be out of a job. I’m incredibly grateful for that, but that also means I won’t be taking any extra time off. Wish me luck!

  1. Good luck with the move, Raisa.

Love your new haircut! It’s so cute on you and fits your facial shape very well! Also loving the colour :D RIP to your hair, though! :(

Love the second outfit, btw! That’s very casual and summery-looking for me :D

  2. I’m digging the outfit, and the haircut. I’ve always been told that I would look good in a bob. And that’s what my last haircut was. My hair tends to grow out pretty fast, so it’s been a longer than the last time I had my haircut.

Anyways, I’m really liking the skirt, and like you, I need to step out of my comfort zone and try something out like dresses and skirts. I actually bought one dress and I need to dress it down as it is a bit fancy. I will be wearing this dress on the night I see my mom which is not too far off.

    1. I love bobs! Your hair looks good too. :D

I also own a dress that is really fancy, but too cutesy for formal occasions. I’ve only worn it once, but I’d like to wear it out more often.

  3. I hope your hair survives the abuse because it’s gorgeous! I love the cut and the colour is amazing!
Also loving the second outfit, it’s very “casual rock chick on summer vacation”. :)

And if you want to talk about cold summers you can talk to me… Where I live we’ve had no warmer than 5-10°C (41-50°F) for 2 months straight now. May 2015 also set the record for the rainiest month in 100 years.
I don’t know what the heck this is but it sure isn’t summer.

Good luck with the move btw! How exciting :)

    1. Thank you, Karin! I’m trying to take good care of my hair right now. I wish it can stay this way forever, but alas hair grows and dye fades.

Apparently the Pacific Northwest is going through a heat wave right now. Weather’s been odd lately!

  4. Your hair colour is amazing! I wish I could dye my hair a crazy colour again but my company says no. I know how you feel when it comes to the waves and frizz though. Mine is the same and it’s a pain to have to straighten it all the time, especially the bangs. Let’s work hard with our hair together, haha!

The skirt and shoes in your first outfit remind me so much of Japan! Not so much the shirt because girls don’t really wear low-cut clothes here, but skirts like that are really popular. It’s a nice outfit. :D

    Good luck with your move!

    1. In my previous jobs, crazy colors were a huge no-no. I’m making up for lost time now that I work in a more creative environment. :D

Let’s do our best with our hair! XD

  5. Your outfits are always on point :D. And your hair is on fire!! I can’t imagine going to Vegas during the summer (especially EDC) because of the desert heat! The weather in Philly sounds a bit more welcoming even though it’s a bit colder. It sounds like you’ll be having fun moving out once again! Have fun and glad to hear you can remotely work from home!

  6. We’re starting to get some of the summer heat! It’s in the low 90sF now, and I’m sure it’ll be over 100F in no time :(

I love your new haircut :D The bangs look so good on you! I think the first outfit is really cute, especially the skirt. It looks very summery to me! I also really like the top in the second outfit. I like the shape of it at the bottom.

That’s exciting that you have a new place! Good luck with the move!

    1. I wish summer would never come, to be honest. I’m loving this mild weather!

We’re not yet done packing so I need to get one that huhuhu.

  7. The first outfit is so me-ish! I know what you mean about summers. It hasn’t felt very summery so far in June, though it was quite warm here in May. I think I spent most of it baring legs, yet today’s the first day in June I’ve done so. Your haircut is so sweet. If there’s anything I wish for is beautiful red hair (KUSHINA KUSHINA). But I can’t stand the thought of bleaching.

    1. You should do it if you can! Took me forever to buy my own pair but it’s totally worth it. They’re so comfortable. :D
