Valentine’s Day is approaching! Are you ready to treat yourself and your loved ones? I’m still planning how mine will go, but until then I thought it would be fun to do a small crochet collection just for that special day.

I wanted to challenge myself by stitching a set of items based on a theme, and since February 14 was coming up, I figured a Valentine’s collection would be fun to make. I didn’t have a lot of time to make a large set, so here’s my humble collection of crocheted items for Valentine’s Day!

Lace Earwarmers

Earwarmers with lace trimming

If you feel like hats don’t suit you, earwarmers are a cute alternative in the cold. There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from, so you’re sure to find at least one you’ll like!

For my own pair, I chose pink for my color as opposed to red for a sweeter look. I followed a pattern from one of my favorite crochet blogs, All About Ami, and tweaked it to suit my own idea. :D I sewed in some lace trimming to add a daintier feel to it.

This is also the first time I’ve tried a foundation single crochet on a project, and I’m never going back! It comes out so much more evenly than chaining and working a row in. If a pattern calls for single crochets on the first round, you should definitely take at look at replacing it with foundation single crochet. :D

Pattern: Black and White Knotted Headband
Materials: Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn in Petal Pink, Vintage Cotton Lace
Stitches: Foundation single crochet, single crochet (UK double), slip stitch
Tools: 5mm hook, sewing needle and thread

Scarf for Two

Scarf for Two solo shot

It’s still chilly on my side of the world, so a scarf is a must on a date. This long infinity scarf made with soft yarn and delicate stitching is perfect for staying warm on those long, romantic walks.

And the best part is, it’s long enough for two people! Wrap your significant other in and enjoy a nice cuddle while chilling at home. ;)

This scarf took me the longest to make, as it measures at 70 inches (177.8 cm) in circumference! I think you can get away with 60 inches since mine had tons of wiggle room even with Mike wearing it too. To save time, you can also use chunky yarn and a larger hook to finish it sooner.

Pattern: DIY Infinity Scarf
Yarn: Red Heart Soft Yarn in White
Stitches: Half double crochet (UK half treble), single crochet (UK double) for the edges
Tools: 4mm hook

Lace Boot Cuffs

Lace boot cuffs

In the same spirit as the earwarmers, these boot cuffs were made with pink yarn and lace trimmings to add sweeter detail to your outfit. I love making boot cuffs as they are quick and easy to make. You can finish a pair in just a few hours. :D

Wearing the cuffs

Here are the cuffs in action! They look super cute paired with a dress and tights. If you make a pair with a bright color like I did, don’t forget to dress them with muted pieces to balance out your outfit.

I followed a really cute pattern to make these cuffs, but I also tweaked it to add in the lace instead of scallops. They’re adorable either way! For anyone wondering, I still don’t have a sewing machine. :’D I sewed the lace in by hand.

Pattern: DIY Crochet Boot Cuff
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn in Petal Pink, Vintage Cotton Lace
Stitches: Single crochet (UK double), Double crochet (UK treble)
Tools: 5mm hook, sewing needle and thread

Here’s my humble collection all together! I feel so happy that I managed to do all these in a short amount of time. The great thing about these is you can mix and match them seamlessly into your own wardrobe. You don’t have to use pink or white to make these. Choose a neutral color, and these will go with everything. :D

What do you think? Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day? It’s a day to spend with someone special, so don’t forget to give yourself some pampering. #TreatYoself because you are a fabulous person and deserve to love yourself. <3 Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

    1. Thank you!! It just takes practice. XD My first few projects looked pretty bad, but once you understand the concept and your hands get used to it, you’ll be a lot better. :D

  1. LOVELY! :D

    You created some awesome stash! And you’re rocking them very well ^^ Wish I could crochet, but my darn fingers could never get the hang of it! I’ll stick to knitting XD;

I’ve no plans for Crappytine’s Day XD; I think I’ll just hide in my room and do a movie marathon or something! Oh and then get cheap chocolate the day after from the 50% sale, hahaha!

  2. Love the scarf for two! Hehe but it might not work for me and my boyfriens because he’s really tall! Haha i’m only on his shoulder (or chest) level haha
Wish it could really get cold here in the PH so I could use these warmers but nah, I have low intolerance to cold. Haha

    1. Ahaha I think it would work better if you two are sitting down. XD I don’t think sharing a scarf would work that well for us either since Mike’s a lot taller than me too! But somehow we’re more equal when we sit. I think coz he has longer legs, and also he slouches. -.-

  3. THIS IS SO CUTEEEE! I DIG THE EAR WARMERS. You’ve gotten so good at crochet especially with those detailed little laces!! And that scarf for two is absolutely adorable but I wonder if that’s because you and your husband advertised it well in that photo. ;)

    1. Yay thank you! <3 I've been trying out more advanced stitches and patterns lately, and it's been working out well. :D Took me some time to get comfortable with them but it's worth it!

  4. I love your Valentine’s inspired crochet projects! The lace earwarmers and boot cuffs are sooo cute. I really like the pink color and the addition of the lace :) Cute photo of the scarf too! Looks nice and warm!

We normally stay in and cook for Valentine’s Day. In the past, we’d get nice steaks and do a potato side. I think we’re going to try homemade Japanese food this year!

  5. Awww how cute! I think just picking up a hobby and then making them for Valentine’s Day (on Valentine’s Day that is) is the perfect way to spend the day when you’re by yourself LOL. The guy and me are both artists/crafters, and since we’re apart from each other, that’s what we plan to do: Skyping while making something. ^_^

Me and Andy are spending the day at home playing PS4 games and Pokemon (the card game). Cooking a cheap pizza as well, because we’re trying to save up. And expensive meal just isn’t on the cards this year!
