My Favorite Things banner

Hello and welcome to another edition of My Favorite Things, the linkup for all things wonderful. Join me and Eirene, and tell us what you loved the last month!

Apologies for the late post! I gamed a bit too much over the long weekend and got a bad case of eye strain. I’ve been limiting my computer time since. Looking at the monitor still hurts a bit, so I’ll be keeping this entry short.

Voltron: Legendary Defender

Voltron was my childhood! I was so excited to see it was being rebooted on Netflix. Voltron: Legendary Defender is a lot of fun! The first episode had some rough pacing, but once the story gets going, it’s a lot more engaging. I’m halfway through the first season and having a blast.

So I’ve been playing a lot of Overwatch. And when I’m not playing, I’m watching videos of other people playing Overwatch. XD Muselk is my favorite for his hilarious and over-the-top plays. He gives me so many ideas for Symmetra who is probably my favorite hero. I always look forward to his next video!

That’s it for my faves this month! Now it’s your turn. Check out the rules below and join us!

  1. That sucks you got a bad case of eyestrain . . . from gaming at that! X____X I hope that’s getting better.

I LOLed at seeing Voltron on your list, haha! I’d not even thought of this show in years, but then again, I never actually watched it. I know of it, but I didn’t watch it as a child, so it’d have no sentimental value to me XD;; However, you’re making me want to reconnect with some of my favourite shows as a kid. I may need to do a marathon with them soon . . .

  2. fallout is crying because you’re hooked to something that isn’t new vegas, yikes :P
it’s okay though; i’ve been addicted to nothing but the division too :)

  3. Hope your eyes are feeling better! I remember seeing the new reboot of Voltron! I gotta check it out; Netflix makes some pretty good original series. I somehow imagine you having your own Twitch TV livestream of Overwatch XD. I seriously need to check this game out when I burn through my weekly allowance on Skyforge!

  4. I have had eyestrain before as well. I believe it was due to staying on the computer for far too long.

I honestly don’t think I have ever heard of Voltron. This is just my opinion, but Hollywood needs to stop making a reboot of already once made classic movies. It feels as though Hollywood may have ran out of ideas to direct into a movie. I heard that they’re rebooting Robin Williams’ old movie “Jumanji” and casting Jack Black as Robin Williams’ character.

Oh yeah, I took part in your My Favorites Link-up. I have actually been waiting for this.

  5. Oh no about the eye strain! I hope it gets better!

I just started watching the Voltron reboot! I agree that the first episode was kind of rough. It felt rushed, and they tried too hard on the comedic relief parts. I’m only a few episodes in, but it seems to be getting better. I like that it still has a very old school feel about it!

  6. That is so cool that you can watch the reboot of a show you really like. :D It’s exciting when that happens. It’s great that you can enjoy watching other people play. :D Give some ideas and inspiration.

  7. Voltron was also part of my childhood! Can’t believe DreamWorks is rebooting the series! (with updated animation/character designs, and all that) It’ll be hard for me to yank Netflix out from my parents (we only got 2 TVs, and the 2nd TV doesn’t have Netflix in it :( My own TV in my room attached to my PS3 isn’t working properly so I can’t even use it) because they’re always on Netflix every single day. T_T

But, glad you shared, and will definitely remind myself to start watching. ^_^

  8. I think I remember seeing this at some point in my childhood though it didn’t really have much of an impact on my young mind (I probably thought it was a boy’s show :p).

I’ve never played Overwatch either but it looks fun!

  9. I’ve been hearing so much about Overwatch. It sort of makes me wish I were more into gaming, or had a good set-up for it. ;-; I don’t think I ever really got into watching my favorite streamer (Grimmybear) play Overwatch, though.
