What I Wore: Green

Moving to a lusher area has inspired me to wear brighter, more natural colors. Having lived in big cities for most of my life, my style of neutral and pastel colors synced well with the harsh lines and drab structures of urban life.

And while I’m not camping out in the wilderness, this new place still feels like nature. Rather than car horns, I wake up to birds. The nights are peaceful and chilly which has allowed me to me sleep better. Read more…

Friday’s 10 Happy Things Vol. 2

I’m taking a break from the insanity that was this week to draft another edition of Friday’s 10 Happy Things! This week has been a great ball of activity as we’ve moved out of Philly to Lehigh Valley. We still have to unpack all of our belongings over the weekend. On the bright side, our new furniture is arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Snaps from Sugar Land

Most pictures I took of my weekend in Texas were of family and my grandfather’s service. We were so busy preparing for the service and entertaining guests that there wasn’t much time to go out and explore. That’s fine though; I wasn’t there to sightsee, but it was good to see my family again. I haven’t seen my cousins in years! It was great catching up with them. <3

Thank you for everything, Daddylo.

Last night, my grandfather passed away. He died peacefully and comfortably at my aunt’s home in Texas. He’d been sick for a while. I thought I was ready for it. I kept rationalizing that it was his time. He had a long life, survived by five children and six grandchildren, but I still felt upset when I heard the news. I’ve experience a lot of loss in my life, and it never gets easier. It’s always a grim reminder that life never stays the same for long. Read more…
